Today I experienced something new. By playing the VR version of Shufflepuck Cantina, I felt like “physically” projected in the Amiga version of my youth ( Shufflepuck Café ). When I was a kid, the graphics of the game were, let’s say, pixelated but my imagination filled the gaps and projected me in the Shufflepuck cafe. The game was so intense that I forgot my surroundings.
The VR port of this game is a very good example of what makes a enjoyable VR experience at this stage. There is no real movement in the rooms so no sickness. The fact that you play a game within a game really helps experience presence. The interface has been resigned for VR and is really nice. The game, although a little bit repetitive, is fun to play and challenging.
